Biosafety Sharing - Findings of the US-CDC Laboratory Safety Survey
24 March 2015
A laboratory safety culture survey was conducted at the US-CDC, in response to the series of recent laboratory incidents.
The survey has identified the following important aspects for laboratory safety and security:
Leadership commitment;
Culture of shared responsibility and accountability;
Proper risk assessment on all work involving pathogenic organisms and biological toxins;
Laboratory safety training.
The list of non-compoundable offences now only applies to offences committed under Sections 5 and 30, which is related to the non-peaceful use of biological agents and toxins.
